Thermal Image comparison
Thermal Image Comparison
Mr C picked up a cool thermal imaging device and we just couldn't pass up the opportunity to play around with the nifty gadget. Although the color time lapse video (HERE) is interesting to watch, this greyscale comparison actually tells the story more concisely. The two images in this comparison were shot just seven minutes apart with the first image being on "Cool" and the second image flipped to "Heat". In these images, dark is cold and white is hot... Photo Submissions Corbin maximized the seating area and positioned the rider bucket in the sweet spot to offer the best possible ergonomics and long range comfort. Sculpted seating platforms conform to the shape of your body to give more square inches of even support and eliminate hot spots and pressure on your tailbone.

Neutralized seating platform helps to hold your body in place and curbs sliding in the saddle. This also helps to relieve rider fatigue by taking pressure off your wrists and knees. Our exclusive Comfort Cell foam material on the inside provides a firm, resilient ride that supports your body indefinitely. Over time, Comfort Cell will break in and adapt to provide a personalized fit to your body.

Bucket shaping of the front seating area gives an unprecedented amount of body support. Notice how it curves up at the back to provide over six inches of support to your lower back. Towards the front of the bucket we design the saddle narrower to allow for ground reach. Smaller riders may prefer to slide forward and out of the bucket at stop signs for best ground reach.

This Dual Touring saddle accepts an adjustable backrest in the rider's seating area. Backrest installs and removes easily with a single bolt and adjusts to provide a tailored fit to rider posture. We've built in special hardare that also allows the backrest to be adjusted fore and aft.

Backrests are available in several styles to suit your taste. We've found the #297-SB standard and #02-SB Ovalbac to provide the right blend of clean visuals and rider support. Both give you an additional nine inches of vertical support and are sculpted to fit the shape of your back. Covered with genuine leather to match your saddle and built up with Comfort Cell foam for long lasting comfort. At the rear we offer a variety of finishing plate options. Our standard plate is a black leather look, but for a little extra we can provide it prepainted to coordinate with your stock paint for a truly integrated look. Our Ovalbac model backrest also offers the option of a chromed steel finishing plate.

Corbin's Dual Tour has the option of electric seat heaters or in our Fire & Ice model that offers heat AND cooling. Heated saddle has rider and passenger areas that are controlled independently via conveniently located switches in the left side panels. Fire & Ice saddle has a single switch that operates both the front and rear seating positions. Our seats plug directly into wiring that exists on the motorcycle for simple integration.

Our Fibertech base material and patented manufacturing process allows a perfect fit to the lines of the fender and tank. This rigid baseplate provides the saddle with a firm foundation to support the carefully designed ergonomics of the foam. The entire seat rides on rubber bumpers to protect your paint job and mounts to your bike with a tongue in the front and single screw into your fender at the rear.

On the outside we use genuine leather seating for a luxurious ride that breathes with your body. We've designed a cover pattern that blends with the Chief's visuals and allows a variety of customization options. In keeping with the design of the OEM components, we've incorporated an oversized stitching so you keep consistent look across all components and that vintage appeal.

For your Indian sissybar we offer two different backrest pads. The standard model offers good passenger support sculpted to fit the shape of their back. Our Armrest model provides much more square inches of back support and the addition of armrests built in. Both models mount easily to your Indian sissybar just like the original backrest pad. Includes genuine leather back panels and comes fully coordinated to your Corbin saddle.

About Fire & Ice: Ever hear of the Peltier Effect? If so, you've probably already figured out the basics of how the Corbin Fire & Ice system works. With just a couple of fans and some clever application we can include both heat and cool in the same saddle without pumps, compressors or fluids. It should be noted the cooling effect is affected by ambient temperature. The system will quickly cool the surface 10-15 degrees below ambient temperature. On the heat side we thermostatically set it to top out at approximately 110 degrees. The degree of heat/cool you experience will, of course, be influenced by the type of riding gear you wear.

Regarding Indian Concert Saddlebag Audio Kit: We have provided room under the basepan for the amplifier used in this kit, but the Corbin amplifier relocation bracket MUST be used. Our bracket lowers the mounting point of the unit to allow for the improved seating position and ergonomics of the Corbin saddle. We provide this bracket at no charge if you own or are purchasing the Corbin saddle.

Seat ComparisonRegarding Seat Height: We measured the effective seat height of our Dual Tour and Classic Solo saddles and came up with numbers that don't jive with the OEM spec. We're not sure how they measured, but we made the Corbin saddles as low as practical to put the rider is the sweet spot on the bike. This changes the seat height, but we think this visual comparison makes more sense than the numbers. Just click on the image at right to check it out.

This version of Corbin's Dual Touring Saddle is specially designed to work with the Indian Accessory Sissy Bar and Luggage Rack or Roadmaster trunk. For our standard model that works with two backrests, please see THIS page.
