We are proud to announce the availability of an extremely comfortable two-up saddle for Kawasaki's retro-cruiser. Corbin's wizards have designed this saddle to fit in with the nostalgic look of the Drifter and provide ergonomically shaped support. The Corbin Dual Touring saddle also accepts two removable rider's backrests that provide an added 8.75" of adjustable support.
Built up of Comfort Cell® foam, the Dual Touring saddle gives two riders fantastic support and weight distribution to eliminate hot spots. The saddle comes standard with a genuine leather cover in your choice of colors. We recommend Tan (shown), Antique Bomber Jacket or Black for a truly custom look. To add to the visual appeal of the motorcycle and hide the gap between the saddle and rear fender, we have included a leather skirt in the design. Our new Indian head concho and chrome studs are included for a vintage touch.
New to the Corbin design is the concept of removable leather fringe. This fringe fastens to the inside of the leather skirt using hook and loop fastener so you can change the look of your Drifter easily as desired. You can use either a single backrest that can transfer from the rider's to passenger position as needed or order two backrests for full time use. The Corbin backrest is fully adjustable and locks into concealed hardware with a single setscrew.
Installation of the Corbin system is simple and accomplished by removing the grab rail from the sub-frame (just four bolts.) Transfer two brackets from your stock seat onto the Corbin model and our Dual Touring saddle will install like stock. Bolt the two side brackets to your chassis and use the stud on the rear of the saddle to bolt to the bracket on your subframe. A large body washer and self-locking nut are included. If you'd like to dress up the installation, we also offer chromed billet thumbscrews that can be used in the side mounting brackets.
UNIQUE TECHNOLOGY: The design and manufacture of Corbin products is so unique that Mike Corbin himself holds more than 60 United States Patents! From the process itself to new innovations like the Corbin Glovebox, you can count on highly functional and unique products that work. Corbin products are manufactured under one or more of the following US Patents: 6,848,156 B2; 6,729,516 B2; D 489,540S; 6,655,740 B1; 6,422,648 B1; 5,544,937; 5,608,957; 4,953,911; D545,073S & 6,971,714 B1.
FIBERTECH™ BASEPAN: A purpose built, hybrid material that provides a firm foundation to support the carefully designed ergonomics of the Corbin saddle. Provides a precision fit to every arc and contour of the machine and rides on rubber bumpers to protect your paint. We always design our basepans as flat as possible so bumps or odd shapes don't telegraph through the foam to your body. Click on the button at left to learn more...
COMFORT CELL® FOAM: The heart of the Corbin saddle! Our exclusive, purpose built foam material, called Comfort Cell, was created to provide a firm, resilient ride that doesn't break down. This means it will support you for long days on the road. Over time, Comfort Cell will break in to provide a personalized fit to your posture and even greater comfort! For the complete story just click the button.
ERGONOMIC SHAPING: A major part of the design criteria of the Corbin saddle is the Ergonomic shape. This means the saddle's foam shape is designed to emulate the curves of the human body. This provides more square inches of body contact and helps to eliminate hot spots. This shaping also neutralizes the seating platform to help curb sliding in the saddle which reduces fatigue. In a nutshell... more comfort for a longer ride! Just click the button at left for an animation that shows how it works.
PATENTED MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY: Always an innovator, Mike Corbin invented Integrated Molding technology which is now the process by which all Corbin saddles are made. This process allows extremely tight tolerances and creates a chemical bond between the foam and base material. To see what this is all about, just click the button for More Info
GENUINE LEATHER: We use leather in all panels of the seat that contact your body. This provides a luxurious ride that breathes with your body. Leather will also break in along with the foam shape to support the personalized fit. Available in a wide range of textures and styles to suit your taste. For more information about leather seating just click away.
CORBIN BACKREST SYSTEM: The first and most versatile removable backrest system available for motorcycles! Corbin's backrests provide added vertical back support and long range comfort. Supported by internal hardware for a very clean look. Backrests adjust to rider's profile for a tailored fit and install or remove easily as desired. A very popular option! If you have the Drifter model that came with only a Solo Saddle, you will need to purchase additional hardware from your Kawasaki dealer in order to make it a Two-up bike (footpegs and such). Our Dual Touring saddle does not include these items. A complete Kawasaki part number listing can be found here.
Sorry, but this saddle does not fit with the Kawasaki saddlebags available as an option on your Drifter.
Take good care of your new seat and the seat will take good care of you. Designed to help your leather saddle remain weather resistant and keeps the hide supple. This will allow the leather to break in and age gracefully. Great for boots, gloves & jackets too. Simple rub-in, buff out application. *More Info*
Our most popular backrest model is the perfect blend of form and function. The size looks visually appropriate on most every seat yet is large enough to provide good, sculpted support. Works well in either the rider's or passenger's position. The standard Ovalbac is available with a range of finishing plate options to dress up the rear including chrome! *More Info*
The standard Corbin backrest for years! This model is the same size and shape as the Standard Ovalbac above, but without the hole in the middle. Provides plenty of sculpted back support without looking too big on the bike. Works in both the rider or passenger seating area on virtually all Corbin saddle models. This model also has the option of chrome studs if desired. *More Info*
Like the Standard Ovalbac show above, but with a larger contact area for added support. Works great as a passenger backrest in Dual Touring models. Because of the added width, we do not recommend this model in the front position while carrying a passenger... it may interfere with their legs. Sculpted to provide wide ergonomic support. Offers a variety of finishing plate options to customize the rear (sorry, no chrome). *More Info*
This model is specially designed to be used in the large Dual Touring seats (like HD Baggers) or in Master's Type saddles as found on the Goldwings. Sculpted for extended support both vertically and horizontally, but cut away at the bottom to provide clearance for passenger's legs. A variety of finishing plate options are available to customize the rear. *More Info*
If you want the functionality of a backrest, but also want the smallest appearance possible, this is the backrest model for you. This one is most often used as a rider's backrest in Gunfighter seat models (thus the name). Includes a variety of finishing plate options for the rear. *More Info*
All the functionality of an adjustable backrest, combined with the smallest profile possible. This model is often used as a rider's backrest in Gunfighter seat models just like the #02-G shown above. Includes genuine leather seating and color coordinating options just like our saddles *More Info*
A convenient storage solution that looks great too. Corbin's Glove Box bolts up easily to your #02-S(B) model backrest in place of the rear finishing plate to provide four liters of locking storage. Available in primer or pre-painted. Some color matches are available depending on bike make and model. Comes fully lined too! *More Info*
