Classic styling with a nostalgic touch and generously sculpted seating... that's Corbin's Classic Solo saddle! Designed specially to fit the 2009 Yamaha V-Star 950.
The all new chassis of Yamaha's new V-Star gave us additional design latitude for developing a perfected shape and good ground reach. Wide, sculpted seating position creates a larger area of contact for excellent weight distribution. Shaped like your body to eliminate pressure points and give long lasting support that will keep you in the saddle all day.
Corbin's rigid fibertech basepan provides a perfect fit and is built low to hug the frame. This allowed us to create a foam shape that keeps you in the sweet spot which provides a better center of gravity and more positive feeling of control. Deep, supportive bucket design gives over five inches of vertical support (15" with backrest installed). All of this adds up to a very relaxed posture and comfortable ride so you'll be able to go out and put serious miles under the tires.
Inside, our exclusive Comfort Cell foam provides firm support that stays resilient indefinitely. We cast this special Closed Cell material nearly twice as firm as the stock foam to support your body weight for day long comfort. That's why we always say "firm is a good thing!"
Designed to work with an optional Corbin backrest for added comfort and support. Angle adjustable to fit a wide variety of statures and riding postures. For this model we've built external backrest hardware that mounts to the bike under the saddle. This allowed for a lower, frame hugging basepan shape and cleaner fit. Works with a variety of Corbin backrest models. We recommend model #02-SB (shown) for a very good blend of form and function.
Classic Solo saddle works with a passenger touring pillion that is shaped for a large contact patch and maximum passenger comfort. Offering a generous contact patch and the ability to work with an integrated Corbin backrest or the Yamaha sissy bar. Pillion is constructed of the same high quality materials as the Classic Solo and is covered to match for an integrated look.
When using the Yamaha sissy bar, we offer a coordinated backrest pad to match your Corbin system. Sculpted design gives a large contact patch and excellent support. Simple to install, the Corbin sissy bar pad mounts just like stock.
All components include genuine leather seating inserts for a truly luxurious ride. For a very classy and subtle touch we recommend our standard natural grain leather seating with coordinating vinyl sides. We prefer leather seating because it is durable, will breathe with your body and adapt with the foam shape as it breaks in. Vinyl side panels help to support the foam shape and keep the cover looking nice longer. A wide variety of color and texture options are available by special order at no additional charge.
Corbin's solo and passenger pillion mount easily and use the stock key lock system. Pillion pad comes with brackets preinstalled that integrate with the factory fender brackets. Classic solo installs by mounting the Corbin supplied backrest hardware to your chassis into stock locations. The solo saddle will then mount using preinstalled brackets that integrate with the Corbin backrest hardware and factory key lock.
Did you notice that trick little glovebox on the Corbin backrest? Corbin's glovebox is an excellent solution for all your quick-access stuff. Simply replace the finishing plate on the #02-SB Ovalbac or #297-SB backrest and you've just added four liters of locking storage capacity. It's plenty for a couple bottles of water, cell phone, spare gloves, maps and other incidentals. Constructed of durable ABS plastic and available plain or prepainted black.
