Regardless of whether your 'Wing is an `01 or an `11, we have the hot setup for your bike (no pun intended). When you're out piling up the mileage, the last thing you should ever be worried about is comfort. Honda provided a very luxurious ride when they created the latest evolution of The Wing, but it took the Corbin Wizard's to really nail the sweet-spot. Corbin's Master's Type saddle perfects the ride!
Check out the saddle dimensions at the bottom of this page... nearly TWO FEET of vertical back support in the rider's position and almost 19 inches for your copilot. Naturally we've designed the rider's backrest to have an angle adjustment so your can customize it to your posture. This Ovalbac model (exclusive to the GL 1800) has been specially designed for increased lower back support. Our rider's backrest fits into hardware concealed inside the saddle for a very clean look and simple installation. Notice also how the base of the backrest has been shaped to allow room for your passengers legs. A very well thought out design.
Nowadays everybody knows that Corbin backrests have an angle adjustment built in. But did you know that the special hardware concealed inside this saddle also allows the backrest to be positioned fore and aft? Additionally, it is spring loaded so it can fold down to ease mounting the bike. Forward positioning and angle adjustment are both very simple and can be done without removing the saddle from your bike.
In the saddle we've maximized each of the riding positions to provide the greatest area of body contact possible, thus spreading your weight over a greater area. This helps to eliminate hot spots and provides excellent support for the long rides. Both seating platforms have been ergonomically sculpted to spread weight properly and support your body.
Those early mornings trying to beat the motorhomes through Yosemite won't be a problem either, because we've built The Ultimate Accessory option for Honda's Ultimate Touring Machine... That's right, Bum Heaters! There's one in front for you and a separately controlled one for your passenger. The conveniently located switches allow two heat settings and are easily wired into your fusebox to the accessory jacks (wiring and detailed instructions included). If your Goldwing came from the factory with a heated seat (2006-2007 models have this option), then we have a special version of this saddle that plugs right into your bike and uses the Honda switches.
In the rear, you have a choice of our Standard Trunkrest or an extended trunkrest with passenger Armrests. Both offer sculpted support that gives a wide contact patch for your passenger. Either model bolts up easily to your stock trunk and works with the built in speakers. If you have the late model 'Wing with integrated heaters, then the trunkpad that comes with your system will also have a heater pad built in. A little more on this later.
All components of the Corbin saddle system are built up with our exclusive Comfort Cell® foam that provides firm support for the long haul. Comfort Cell® foam is specially developed for Corbin to provide support that won't break down and breaks in to take on your shape for a personalized fit.
For a truly luxurious feel, we include genuine leather seating panels that breathe with your body. Coordinated vinyl side panels keep the foam shape tight and the saddle looking new longer. Just remember to care for your saddle properly with regular conditioning using a product like our Saddle Cream. This will help your leather saddle to break in along with your foam shape, age gracefully and remain weather resistant.
About 2006-2010 Models: Congratulations on your new scoot! In 2006, Honda began offering the "Comfort Package" which includes seat heaters and switches already integrated into the bike. We make a heated seat design specifically for this setup so that it uses your Honda switches and plugs into the harness in place of the OEM seat. For this application, use our part number: HGL18-6-HE. This model includes a HEATED trunkrest in the slim style as shown directly below. If your 2006-2010 model did NOT come with the heat package, use our standard heated or non-heated models listed below.
Our Master's Type Saddle is available in TWO configurations:
Complete system with Standard Trunkrest. This setup includes Corbin's luxurious Master's Type Touring Saddle, a newly redesigned Ovalbac rider's backrest, coordinated Smooth Trunkrest, and seat heaters in both the rider and passenger seating areas. This is an excellent choice to maximize the comfort value in both the front and rear while keeping a clean line in the passenger area. Sculpted trunkrest gives a large area of body contact and excellent comfort. NOTE: For 2006-2010 models that came with Heater switches built in from Honda, this trunkrest is also heated!
Complete system with Trunk Armrest. This setup includes the luxurious Master's Type Touring Saddle with our cool new Ovalbac Rider's backrest, an extended Trunkrest with Passenger Armrests and seat heaters in the rider and passenger seating areas. This is an excellent choice if you really want to spoil your copilot on the long rides. Saddle and rider's rest are identical to the setup listed above, but the trunkrest has the addition of armrests for your passenger.
Please note: When installing the Corbin saddle, it is very important that the seat mounting tab located near the front of the saddle goes UNDER the bracket on the chassis as shown in this photo. Saddle will not fit properly if this tongue is not located correctly.
Heater Trouble? The folks at Electrical Connection have the fix and it's called a Heated Seat Amplifier. When the electrical connections start to get any oxidation, the heater circuit may fail. FIBERTECH™ BASEPAN:
A purpose-built hybrid material that provides a firm foundation
to support the carefully designed ergonomics of the Corbin

the machine and rides on rubber bumpers to protect your paint.
We always design our basepans as flat as possible so bumps or

COMFORT CELL® FOAM:
The heart of the Corbin saddle! Our exclusive, purpose-built
foam material, called Comfort Cell, was created to

ERGONOMIC SHAPING:
A major part of the design criteria of the Corbin saddle is its
ergonomic shape. This means the saddle's foam shape is designed
to emulate the curves of the human body. This provides more
square inches of body contact and helps eliminate hot spots.
This shaping also neutralizes the seating platform to help curb
sliding in the saddle, which reduces fatigue. In a nutshell:
more comfort for a longer ride!

how it works.
PATENTED MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY:
Always an innovator, Mike Corbin invented Integrated Molding
technology, which is now the process by which all Corbin
saddles are made. This process allows extremely tight
tolerances and creates a chemical bond between the foam and
base material.

GENUINE LEATHER:
We use leather in all panels of the seat that contact your body.
This provides a luxurious ride that breathes with your body.

a personalized fit. Available in a wide range of textures and
styles to suit your taste.

Rider Comments:
The lower seat height had me flat footed at stop signs and gave me a better feel for the bike while riding. The generous back support gives the impression that you could run ocean to ocean without stopping if you had enough fuel to get there. The adjustable rider's rest came all the way up to my shoulder blades!
The stock seat felt a little cramped and I could tell that taller riders will have touble with their knees hitting the fairing. The Corbin is slightly further back which bigger riders will certainly appreciate. Very roomy with plenty of support and very classy looking, this item is going to be very popular with long distance riders.

Mike,
Just wanted to say - Thanks! I recently purchased a Master Saddle for my 2002 Gold Wing 1800, it is beautiful! I had to go 'Corbin', after experiencing one on my ST1100. The comfort, I expected, but the best part is the style! You and your team really 'cleaned-up' the lines on both the rider and passenger seating/back areas. It wasn't real noticeable, looking at the web site pictures, but once on the bike...Wow! - Big Difference!
Keep the Quality stuff coming!
-Bob Schuch

This could create a hazardous condition.
Testimonials:
My experience with the Corbin process was all the neat stuff I'd been told and then some. I didn't get everyone's names who worked on my Kawasaki Z750S, but everyone involved did a spectacular job. I'm more than happy with the seat, the service and the people involved. -Brian W.
