Classic Solo & Pillion for Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe
A special saddle configuration designed specifically for the Softail Deluxe! Up front, we've taken our Classic Solo saddle and integrated the H-D chrome grab rail that comes as a part of the Deluxe package. For your passenger we created a generous pillion seat with integrated "King & Queen" style backrest. A very nostalgic and appealing design that visually works well with the bike while providing excellent comfort for two.
Corbin's Classic solo saddle provides the use of our removable rider's backrest for over 12 inches of vertical back support. Our sculpted seating position gives maximized body contact and provides true touring comfort with a bucket that gives plenty of lower back support. Our neutralized seat platform offers an easier reach to the ground and a more ergonomic position on the bike. For the Softail Deluxe, we've designed it specially to install with your stock Grab Rail with a genuine leather skirt on the side for a very clean look.
Corbin's removable rider backrest is simple to install and adjusts easily to your riding posture. Slide the backrest shaft into the internal hardware of the Classic Solo and lock it in place with a single bolt. You can then set the backrest position to your preferred setting and lock it in place with the easily accessible adjustment screw. Choose from a variety of backrest styles to suit your taste although we recommend the #02-S Ovalbac for a good combination of looks and support. A range of finishing plate options are available for the rear of the backrest to further customize the look.
For maximized passenger comfort, we offer a generous pillion seat with integrated backrest. We've designed this specially to work with your stock luggage rack and keep a very cool look on your bike. Wide, sculpted seating position gives excellent body support with a wide contact patch. This will eliminate hot spots and increase your passenger's riding range. Installs with or without the rider's backrest in the solo seat and includes painted ABS finishing plate on the rear.
Speaking of the rear finishing plate... notice how the triple rib design of the backing plate matches the three bars of the luggage rack for a totally integrated look. In these photos, we've had our finishing plate custom painted to match the bike, but the standard finishing plate comes in a nice leather pattern ABS. If you would like your saddle made with a smooth plate suitable for painting, please specify on the order form. Passenger pillion seat is built up with our exclusive Comfort Cell foam for firm support that lasts despite the slim lines. Bolts up easily with all brackets included with the saddle.
For ultra-cool solo looks, you can run the Corbin Classic Solo Saddle by itself without a pillion seat. This allows you to show off that slick rear fender and still provides for use of the Corbin backrest if desired. Notice again how the saddle and cover are designed to work with the stock grab rail. When running the bike in solo configuration, we've found it looks a lot cleaner to use a couple of Chrome Acorn nuts as shown here (not included) in place of the large thumbscrews.
Another slick option for your saddle setup is the variety of finishing plates offered for the rear of the Ovalbac series backrests. Along with our standard leather look ABS models, we offer a carbon-fiber look or even primer if you'd like to have one custom painted. For just a little extra, we can supply a finishing plate pre-painted gloss black or a chromed steel model like the one shown here. This looks really nice with the tasty chrome bits that come stock on the Deluxe!
Choose from a range of leather styles and colors for a custom touch on your new seat. Leather will provide a perch that breathes with your body and will break in along with the foam shape for a personalized fit. Be sure to care for your leather saddle with a quality conditioner like our Saddle Cream. With proper care, your seat will age gracefully developing a unique character and will be your riding buddy for years. Optional chrome studs provide an added nostalgic touch to this already beautiful saddle. (included at no charge, just specify).
Just a reminder, this saddle is specially designed for the Harley-Davidson Deluxe model that became available in 2005. It will NOT work on other Softail models unless you purchase the grab rail and luggage rack from your Harley Dealer (rear fender may also be required). We've designed our solo saddle and passenger pillion to work in conjunction with your stock components if you choose. Corbin's Classic Solo retains use of the optional rider's backrest regardless of whether you use the stock rear seat or Corbin rear seat. Installation of both components is accomplished with all brackets required. Once the brackets are installed on the motorcycle, the solo seat will install and remove with our integrated key lock for simplicity.
One more word about backrests: If you opt for the model #02-S backrest, we have a new back plate option available for you... a Glovebox! This nifty piece is installed in place of your Ovalbac finishing plate and adds some lockable storage for your essential riding gear. We've designed this one especially to hold a couple of bottles of water with room left for gloves, maps, cell phones and sunglasses. Just about any small incidental item you can think of. Please note, however, that due to the height of the Softail rear fender, the glovebox does not work with the stock or Corbin pillion installed.
This saddle cover has been updated to use our new backrest hardware cover with the sliding door as shown here. To install the backrest, just slide the cover over to the side. When the backrest is not needed, just slide it closed. It doesn't get easier than that! Click image for details.
