My two sons, (22 and 25), and I (48) just returned from a dual sport ride from here in Alabama to Colorado and back on two Suzuki DR650's and a Kawasaki KLR 650-- all three equipped with Corbin seats. We did 3500 miles total and one 525 mile day and one 650 mile day on the bikes. I don't think we could have done that on a stock seat. (I know I couldn't.)

I've also done an Iron Butt Association "Bun Burner Gold" which was 1581 miles in less than 24 hours on one of your seats on a BMW R1100GS.

I'm sold on Corbin.

I just received my seat. FYI this is what I posted on KLR.net about it.

I just installed a Corbin flat on my '08 KLR. Wow, what a difference it's like night and day, The bike is now all day comfortable. For me the stock seat was ok but I'd start squirming after a couple hours. I plan on riding this bike on some extended trips and if the seat bothered me after a few hours, what would it be like after a few days of continuous riding? Plus, maybe I'm just a wimp.

I ordered this Corbin flat to be made with leather surface and vinyl sides per their recommendation and I requested it be 1/2" taller than their standard. It's much firmer than the stock seat but the leather surface must allow the seat to give a little because this one has just a slight degree of cushion which I like. The 1/2" height increase has the top of the seat almost flush, just below the top of the rear rack. Maybe 1/4"-3/8" lower than the stock seat. Dimension? The stock seat is 7 1/4" wide at the top (the black vinyl area on mine) The Corbin is 12" which offers a lot, 50% more, support. The width is gained because the Corbin seating surface is about the same width as the pan rather than the stock seat which shape slopes inward acutely. The seat base where it meets the bike looks about the same as stock.

Once installed it fit perfectly. The seat isn't cheap, it cost $359 plus shipping but if you ever sell your bike, install your like new stock seat and sell the Corbin seperately for a couple hundred. So it really only *costs* around $200. I highly recommend this seat.

The quality of the seat is beyond compare and the comfort is remarkable. There is no way I would have been able to do the trip that I did, and have any enjoyment in it, on the stock seat.

Just felt the need to give some feedback about my new Dual Platform Saddle I just received for my 2009 Kawasaki KLR 650. When it arrived in the mail, I was super stoked to see the craftsmanship that was put into this seat! Oh my God!!! It just looks truly like a real true work of functional art. It was packaged extremely well and had no damage done to it during shipping. It was easy to mount and the basic instructions were well done regarding this process. I sat on it and I have to be honest, I was a little shocked to feel how firm the saddle was. If I hadn't taken it for a 3 hour test ride that day, I would never have believed it could be so comfortable. I took my AirHawk cushion along just in case the going got rough, there was no need for it. There is no possible comparison between this seat and the stock original. I am so glad I decided to spend the extra money and went for the Corbin name. I have experienced no 'dead-leg' or butt and back pain on longer rides since switching the seats. These symptoms were the reason to upgrade the seat on this bike and the cure has been found. Having a shorter inseam length to my legs, the lower seat is a welcome thing as well. I can now flatfoot and love it! Besides the functionality of this seat, it just looks damn good too! Worth every penny!

I have been riding dual purpose bikes for 40 years. In the early 70's the stock seats were not too bad, but in the 80's the big four Japanese dual purpose bikes began to have off-road seats on them that were terrible for the highway for more than 30 minutes. I have been ordering Corbin seats for dual purpose bikes for over 15 years and have never been disappointed. My latest bike, 2012 Suzuki DRZ-400 had a terrible seat that all the reviews commented on. The seat was so narrow and the bike so narrow, I did not see how Corbin could pull it off, but they did with a much wider seat that amazingly looks perfect on the bike and has the usual Corbin comfort I expect. I have had many comments, all positive on this seat and all the other Corbin seats I have had for all four Japanese dual purpose and even my Burgman 650 scooter/touring seat which was already comfortable, but I wanted the back support of the Corbin. My KTM 650 Adventure bike also has a Corbin seat which is not only comfortable but eases the vibration as well. If you have a dual purpose or adventure bike, you will be so much more comfortable on the highway, you will be able to ride for much longer stretches without taking a break. You will also be able to sit down when you get home. I know there are several options for big touring bikes and I don't know much about them since I have always had dual purpose or adventure bikes ranging from 250CC to BMW GS 1000 seats and they have all been excellent in comfort, quality and looks. Since the adventure/dual purpose bike is a fast growing market with generally poor seats, do yourself a favor and check out Corbin. They have the greatest selection by far for this market. Just call Corbin.

I purchased a new Corbin seat for my 2009 Kawasaki KLR 650, so I could do a ride from LA to DC. The ride was called "Run for the Wall". I rode 5,807 on my KLR with your seat under me. WOW! To whom it may concern, thanks for a great product and a comfortable seat. I just received my new dished seat for my KLR 650 from Corbin/AViciousCycle and am very please with the workmanship, comfort and quality. I do own two KLR 650's and hope to put another order in for my 2nd bike soon once the funds are saved up.
